Mrs. Soffel

“A true story.”

Kate Soffel (Diane Keaton) is the warden's wife in Pittsburgh, a mother of four who spends her days in a house attached to the prison. She reads the Bible to the men on death row, and Ed Biddle (Mel Gibson), a convicted murderer waiting to hang with his brother Jack, begins to listen. Gillian Armstrong lets the visits grow from a few quiet minutes through the bars into a secret that Kate will cross a border to keep.
