Mud

“Running from his past. Hiding from the law. Only one way out.”

Ellis (Tye Sheridan) and Neckbone (Jacob Lofland) take a boat out to an island in the Mississippi River and find a fugitive living there, a man called Mud (Matthew McConaughey). Mud wants their help fixing a wrecked boat and reaching Juniper (Reese Witherspoon), the woman he loves, while bounty hunters close in. Jeff Nichols sets it in rural Arkansas, where Ellis, watching his parents split, is trying to work out whether love can be trusted.
