Muddy River

“Growing up... the innocence of youth lost to the realities of friendship, death, sex and injustice.”

In Osaka, at the mouth of a muddy river, the Itakura and Matsumoto families each make their living on the same stretch of water. Nobuo Itakura (Nobutaka Asahara) and Kiichi Matsumoto (Minoru Sakurai) are two boys who find each other there and become close friends. Kōhei Oguri keeps his eye on the boys and their parents, among them Shinpei Itakura (Takahiro Tamura) and Shoko Matsumoto (Mariko Kaga), by the river that all of them live beside.
