A young woman named Mulan (voice: Ming-Na Wen) takes her father's place in the Chinese army, disguising herself as a man to fight an invading force. Her only ally to her secret is Mushu (voice: Eddie Murphy), a small dragon assigned to guide her through the chaos of war and training. As she rises through the ranks and draws closer to the enemy commander Shan-Yu (voice: Miguel Ferrer), her deception threatens everything she has fought to protect.
