Mulholland Drive

Betty Elms (Naomi Watts) steps off the plane in Hollywood with a movie career ahead of her, then finds a dark-haired woman (Laura Harring) hiding in her aunt's apartment, hurt and unable to remember her own name. The two start piecing together who she is, while the director Adam (Justin Theroux) is leaned on over his casting by men he can't refuse. David Lynch builds it in slow, dreamlike scenes, where the ordinary feels slightly off and nothing is explained.
