Murder!
“Who killed Edna Druce?”
A theatrical company in 1930 England is shaken when an actress, Diana Baring (Norah Baring), is found dazed beside the body of a murdered colleague. The evidence points at her, and at her trial the juror Sir John Menier (Herbert Marshall) doubts the verdict but gives way to the others in the room. Alfred Hitchcock follows Sir John as the guilt of that vote sends him looking for the truth, and the film turns on the debt he feels he owes her.
