Murder by Phone

“A madman pushes a button and kills by phone. Would you answer?”

It is 1982, and people are dying the moment they pick up a ringing phone, the killer a voice on the opposite end of the line. Nat Bridger (Richard Chamberlain) is pulled in to stop whoever is behind it, a disgruntled phone company employee who has built a device that kills the person answering. Michael Anderson builds the film around an object in every home, and the fear is that an ordinary call could be the last thing you do.
