In 1930s Brooklyn, a gang called Murder, Incorporated works as the contract-killing arm of the national crime syndicate, run from the top by the boss Lepke. Joey Collins (Stuart Whitman) and Eadie Collins (May Britt) are pulled into its orbit, which is also the orbit of the hit man Abe Reles (Peter Falk).
