Jack Murphy (Charles Bronson) is a tough police detective who wants one thing: to find whoever killed his ex-wife before the police find him. He has been framed for her murder and has already escaped from custody, so every cop in the city is now on the wrong side of him. J. Lee Thompson puts him in motion alongside Arabella McGee (Kathleen Wilhoite), a young thief handcuffed to his wrist.
