Music and Lyrics

“Share the music with someone you love.”

Alex Fletcher (Hugh Grant) was a pop star in the '80s and now plays county fairs, so when the reigning diva Cora Corman (Haley Bennett) asks him to write her a duet, he says yes. He has a few days to deliver a hit, and he has never written a lyric in his life. Marc Lawrence puts Alex at a piano with Sophie Fisher (Drew Barrymore), the woman who waters his plants, and keeps the writing sessions light and quick.
