Mutiny on the Bounty

(1962)Directed by Lewis Milestone185 minAdventure, Drama, History
“The mightiest excitement that ever swept across the sea or the screen!”

First Lieutenant Fletcher Christian (Marlon Brando) wants only to get the Bounty from Portsmouth to Tahiti in 1787 and load it with breadfruit. Captain Bligh (Trevor Howard) wants the same thing faster, and keeps his crew in line by any means. Lewis Milestone lets the ship's hard discipline give way to Tahiti, where the crew finds a paradise and Christian watches the island and the sea beyond it.
