“Hope never quits”

In 1960s Texas, Freddie Steinmark (Finn Wittrock) is a small, overlooked safety who wins a place on coach Darrell Royal's (Aaron Eckhart) University of Texas football team. Angelo Pizzo follows him through the championship season, with his parents Fred (Michael Reilly Burke) and Gloria (Robin Tunney) behind him and Linda Wheeler (Sarah Bolger) at his side. Freddie lines up on the field, the smallest man in the formation, set to play every down.
