My American Uncle

Professor Henri Laborit lays out how living creatures fight, flee and cope with fear, and tests it on three French lives. René Ragueneau (Gérard Depardieu) manages a textile factory as the company starts cutting jobs, while Janine Garnier (Nicole Garcia), an actress, hears that her lover's wife is dying. Alain Resnais cuts between their stories, and what links the strangers is a man named Jean Le Gall (Roger Pierre).
