My Best Girl

Joe Merrill, the son of a millionaire who owns a chain of five and ten cent stores, takes a stockroom job in one of them under the name Joe Grant. He wants to prove he can get ahead without his father's name. Sam Taylor puts him beside Maggie Johnson (Mary Pickford), a stockroom girl, and their friendship becomes a romance he has to hide, because his mother has already picked Millicent Rogers, a society girl, for him to marry.
