My Dead Friend Zoe

“Grief can be a funny thing.”

Merit (Sonequa Martin-Green) came home from Afghanistan in 2016, and her friend Zoe (Natalie Morales), who died overseas, keeps turning up beside her anyway. Merit takes over as aide to her grandfather Dale (Ed Harris), a former Lieutenant Colonel with a new Alzheimer's diagnosis. Kyle Hausmann-Stokes gives Zoe the loudest seat in the room, and Merit carries her everywhere she goes, not ready to say goodbye to the one person who understood.
