My Dog Skip

“Every family needs an optimist.”

In Yazoo City, Mississippi, in 1942, nine-year-old Willie Morris (Frankie Muniz) has no friends, and no one can say how a terrier puppy, a birthday gift from his parents, is going to change that. His mother Ellen (Diane Lane) and father Jack (Kevin Bacon) watch as Skip follows him everywhere he goes. Jay Russell tells it from the older Willie's memory, with Harry Connick Jr. narrating and the whole town drawn in close.
