My Father's Glory

Eleven-year-old Marcel (Julien Ciamaca) idolizes his father, Joseph (Philippe Caubère), a schoolteacher who trusts reason over everything else. When the family takes a summer holiday in the countryside, Marcel meets Lili, a local boy who shows him how life works outside the classroom. Yves Robert tells this from Marcel Pagnol's own childhood memories, a boy's love for his father and the pull of a first friendship.
