My Father's Violin

Why does Özlem (Gülizar Nisa Uray), a girl newly orphaned, keep reaching for her uncle when he has never once reached back? Mehmet Mahir (Engin Altan Düzyatan) is a successful violinist who holds himself at a distance, and a shared grief and a shared love of music are all that connect them. Director Andaç Haznedaroğlu leaves the final picture with Özlem and Mehmet Mahir, the violin between them.
