“HELP! SHE'S AFTER ME! IS THERE A BRUNETTE IN THE HOUSE?”

A woman in a hurry has a coded message hidden in a brooch, and Nazi agents are close behind her. She finds the one person nearby who will take her in: Larry Haines (Bob Hope), a mediocre vaudeville entertainer riding a train to Los Angeles. Sidney Lanfield sets Karen Bentley (Madeleine Carroll) and Larry running together, the brooch still pinned to her, the pursuers a car length behind.
