(1994)Directed by Howard Zieff99 min · PGComedy, Family

“There's being a kid. There's being a adult. And then there's that year in between.”

It's 1974, and Vada Sultenfuss (Anna Chlumsky) has a school holiday coming and an essay to write about someone she admires and has never met. She picks her mother, then finds she knows almost nothing about her. Howard Zieff sends her from her father Harry (Dan Aykroyd) to Los Angeles and her Uncle Phil (Richard Masur), where each person she asks remembers a different woman.
