My Joy
Georgy is a truck driver hauling freight into Russia, and a run-in with the police at a border crossing is the first thing that goes wrong for him. On the road near Smolensk he gives a lift to an old man with disturbing stories about his Army years, then picks up a young woman who works as a prostitute. Sergei Loznitsa lets Georgy lose his way among homeless men and strangers, and the film shows a place where people have stopped looking after one another.
