My Little Princess

In 1970s Paris, ten-year-old Violetta (Anamaria Vartolomei) lives quietly with her grandmother while her mother Hannah (Isabelle Huppert), a photographer, drifts from one host's generosity to the next. When Hannah makes her daughter pose as a model, the pictures become the talk of the city's art scene. Éva Ionesco draws on her own childhood, and she films it with a grain and a restraint that keep the camera from flattering anyone.
