A young gunfighter calling himself Nobody (Terence Hill) keeps turning up wherever the aging Jack Beauregard (Henry Fonda) goes, and Jack only wants to retire and sail for Europe. Tonino Valerii, working from an idea by Sergio Leone, sets the pair against the 150 riders of the Wild Bunch. Nobody has worshipped Jack for years, and Jack just wants to be left alone.
