My Side of the Mountain

“A boy who dreams of leaving civilization.”

Why does a thirteen-year-old leave a city apartment for the Canadian woods with a raccoon named Gus? Sam Gribley (Ted Eccles) has been reading Thoreau, and a summer trip his parents promised has fallen through. James B. Clark follows him as he trains a falcon he names Frightful, then meets Bando (Theodore Bikel), a man who knows the woods and takes to the boy.
