My Tender and Affectionate Beast

The story is drawn from Chekhov's The Shooting Party, set among the landed gentry of imperial Russia. Kamyshev (Oleg Yankovsky), an aristocrat, falls for Olga (Galina Belyaeva), a young woman who will bring him ruin. Emil Loteanu keeps Olga and Kamyshev at the center, and every other bond in the story, to Urbenin (Leonid Markov) or to Count Karneyev (Kirill Lavrov), is shaped by what passes between those two.
