My Way Home

Jamie (Stephen Archibald) leaves the children's home to live with his paternal grandmother, then goes down a mine and into a tailor's shop before the RAF conscripts him and sends him to Egypt. There he meets Robert (Joseph Blatchley), who asks nothing of him and keeps him company. Bill Douglas follows Jamie through the final part of his trilogy, and what hangs on it is whether Jamie can set down his self-pity and let a friend in.
