Mystery of the Wax Museum

(1933)Directed by Michael Curtiz78 minHorror, Mystery
“The supreme thriller!”

Years after a fire destroyed his collection and left him badly injured, the sculptor Ivan Igor (Lionel Atwill) opens a new wax museum. People have begun to vanish, and so have corpses, just as the doors open, and the reporter Florence Dempsey (Glenda Farrell) starts asking questions. Michael Curtiz shot it in two-color Technicolor, one of the last dramatic films made that way. The film is about a man who cannot let go of what was taken from him.
