Nanny McPhee

(2005)Directed by Kirk Jones97 min · PGFantasy, Comedy, Family
“You'll learn to love her. Warts and all.”

Widower Cedric Brown (Colin Firth) needs a nanny, and his seven children, led by Simon (Thomas Brodie-Sangster), have driven off every one who tried. The latest arrival is Nanny McPhee (Emma Thompson), who has a hooked nose, a crooked tooth and a wart, and a stick that makes the house obey her. Kirk Jones sets it in 1860s England, and the children stand in the doorway looking at her.
