Napoleon

“He came from nothing. He conquered everything.”

Napoleon Bonaparte (Joaquin Phoenix) wants power, and he wants it fast, climbing out of the chaos of revolutionary France toward the throne. Ridley Scott follows that rise through Napoleon's volatile marriage to Josephine (Vanessa Kirby), the one person who can unsettle him. The film sets the cost of an empire against a man's need for one woman, and neither is easily given up.
