Violet Jones (Sanaa Lathan) keeps her life as neat as her hair, with a steady boyfriend, a job she's good at, and a standard of perfection she holds herself to. Then an accident at the hair salon shakes her loose from all of it, and she starts to see how little of her life she has actually been living. Haifaa al-Mansour follows her to a soulful barber, Clint (Ricky Whittle), whose easy company lets her put herself back together.
