Poovalli Induchoodan (Mohanlal) walks out of prison after six years for a classmate's murder, and nobody in his own house can quite say why he was ever put there. Shaji Kailas follows the release as it reopens an old case, with Induchoodan's father, the principled judge Maranchery Karunakara Menon (Thilakan), arriving to live under his roof. Beneath the fights and the threats, it is a story about a father whose rigid honesty cost his only son his freedom.
