The story begins in the country of demons, where a shrine maiden named Shion (Ayumi Fujimura) holds the only power that can seal the old demons someone has just brought back. Naruto Uzumaki (Junko Takeuchi) is sent to guard her, and Hajime Kamegaki's film turns on the prediction she makes, that Naruto will die. Shion is left alone in the shrine, the one person the demon is hunting.
