The Leguineche family has sat out the Franco years on their estate of Los Tejadillos, and with the dictator dead, no one in the house can say why the old marquis now needs Madrid so badly. The Marqués de Leguineche (Luis Escobar) wants his name back among the great surnames and a seat near the king. Luis García Berlanga fills the palace with a husband who must have his wife declared mad, and a wife who hates him and their son, Luis José (José Luis López Vázquez).
