Navajeros

El Jaro (José Luis Manzano) is the teenage leader of a juvenile gang, a street kid who has turned petty crime into a name for himself. The film follows his rise from urchin to outlaw, based on the real José Joaquín Sánchez Frutos, with Mercedes (Isela Vega) and El Butano (Jaime Garza) circling him on the way. Eloy de la Iglesia shoots it in rough, grainy realism, close on the faces and streets Jaro came from.
