Necessary Roughness

“This gang of loners, loonies and losers are about to become something they've never been before... a team.”

The Texas State University Fightin' Armadillos are disqualified for cheating and bad grades, so the school has to build a new team from students who actually attend class. Paul Blake (Scott Bakula), a thirty-four-year-old quarterback, joins a roster of walk-ons under Coach Wally Rig (Robert Loggia), with Stan Dragoti directing. Dean Phillip Elias (Larry Miller) is waiting for them to fail, and the team has to win a game to keep the program alive.
