“Peter Sellers in a new and exciting role!”

John Cummings (Richard Todd) sells cosmetics in London, is not very good at it, and needs the car that was stolen from him, which is not yet paid for and not insured. The police shrug, so he goes looking himself and finds Lionel Meadows (Peter Sellers), who runs a car conversion racket and enjoys hurting people. John Guillermin follows Cummings as an ordinary man with a claim on one stolen car, sure that it is his to take back.
