New Tale of Zatoichi

In 1963, in the third film of the Zatoichi series and the first in colour, the blind swordsman (Shintarō Katsu) returns to the village where he grew up, hoping for some peace. Tokuzō Tanaka sends him into a love triangle, with old scores trailing him through the door. Yayoi (Mikiko Tsubouchi) stands close to him, and what sits between them is a tenderness he can't bring himself to put into words.
