Nobody in New York is quite where they planned to be on December 31st, and by evening their separate nights have started to cross. Claire Morgan (Hilary Swank) is running the Times Square ball drop, while Stan Harris (Robert De Niro) is in a hospital bed where Nurse Aimee (Halle Berry) looks after him. Garry Marshall follows each of them toward midnight, and what they all want is somebody to be with when the clock turns.
