Next Door

On the morning of his flight to London for an audition, Daniel (Daniel Brühl), a German-Spanish film star in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg, stops at his corner bar and finds Bruno (Peter Kurth) already waiting. Bruno is a man the neighborhood has overlooked since reunification, and he has been waiting for this encounter for a long time. Brühl directs, and Daniel stays on his stool, still polite, still talking, because leaving would mean admitting the man has rattled him.
