“The suburbs make the hood look good.”

Craig Jones (Ice Cube) has to leave South Central Los Angeles fast, because Deebo, the neighborhood thug with a grudge, has just escaped from prison. He heads for the suburbs of Rancho Cucamonga, where his Uncle Elroy (Don Curry) and cousin Day-Day (Mike Epps) have come into lottery money. Steve Carr sets him down in a quiet cul-de-sac where he has no friends, a lot of noisy new neighbors, and nobody who knows his name.
