“Searing Terror! Burning In Its Intensity!”

Jeff Callum (Patrick Allen) is a writer holed up on the northern island of Fara, a place that should be freezing in the dead of winter. Instead the temperature climbs into the nineties, and the regulars at the Swan have no better idea why than the men at the Met station, while the visiting scientist Godfrey Hanson (Christopher Lee) keeps his own counsel. Terence Fisher stages it in cramped rooms and sweating faces, so the heat presses on everyone.
