Rabbits are overrunning the fields of Arizona rancher Cole Hillman (Rory Calhoun), and he wants them gone. Roy Bennett (Stuart Whitman), a zoologist, tries an experiment to cut the population down, but it produces rabbits far larger than anyone planned for. William F. Claxton's film puts Roy, his wife Gerry (Janet Leigh) and the whole town in the path of the animals that now outnumber them.
