Night of the Living Dead

“There IS a fate worse than death.”

A farmhouse in rural Pennsylvania becomes the last shelter for strangers when the dead start walking across the Northeast. Barbara (Patricia Tallman) and Ben (Tony Todd) nail boards over the windows and doors, joined by the Coopers, including Helen (McKee Anderson) and her daughter Sarah (Heather Mazur). Tom Savini's debut as director keeps them locked in together, with the night long and the ghouls pressing at the walls.
