“The city shines brightest at night.”

Louis Bloom (Jake Gyllenhaal) wants to make money and build a business. He finds his answer in Los Angeles after dark, hunting car crashes and crime scenes with a camera, selling the footage to a local news station run by Nina Romina (Rene Russo). As his videos get bolder and the accidents he films get worse, Louis stops just recording what he finds and starts chasing what he can create.
