Nightmare Alley

“Man or beast.”

Stanton Carlisle (Bradley Cooper) drifts into a travelling carnival in the years before the war, a man with a quiet past and a gift for reading people. Among the freaks and fortune-tellers, including Zeena the Seer (Toni Collette), he learns how a few well-chosen words can open a stranger up. Guillermo del Toro follows his climb toward the city and the psychologist Dr. Lilith Ritter (Cate Blanchett), where Stanton starts to believe he is the one doing the talking.
