“A pair of jokers make double trouble in a hullaba-lulu of a caper”

Tracy (Kim Richards) and Jay Osborne (Brad Savage) want to get away from their grandfather and see their mother, and their plan only works if someone else is dragged into it. That someone turns out to be Duke (Darren McGavin), an expert safecracker, and Bert Delaney (Don Knotts), his bungling sidekick. Norman Tokar sets the two small-time crooks against the children, who have decided to hold themselves for ransom.
