No, the Case Is Happily Resolved

A man sees a brutal murder and decides to keep quiet about it. Then the killer, Professor Eduardo Ranieri (Riccardo Cucciolla), goes to the police first, names the witness, Fabio Santamaria (Enzo Cerusico), as the murderer, and casts himself as the one who saw it all. Vittorio Salerno shoots it in a grainy, unglamorous 1970s manner, so the dread comes from how ordinary everything looks.
