Katherine Grant (Claudette Colbert), a sophisticated photographer, goes down to a tunnel site under the Hudson River to shoot the sandhogs who dig it. She ends up saving one of them from a fatal accident, a cocky, well-built man the crew calls Superman (Fred MacMurray's Jim Ryan). Mitchell Leisen directs the screwball back-and-forth, as she hires him to cure her attraction and gets more trouble than she planned.
