Norma Jean & Marilyn

“Marilyn Monroe was our fantasy. Norma Jean was her reality.”

Two actresses share one life here: Ashley Judd plays Norma Jean Dougherty as a young woman, and Mira Sorvino plays the Marilyn Monroe she builds from her. Tim Fywell, working from a script based on Anthony Summers's book, follows her from a plain, ambitious youth through the men she turns to for work, among them Johnny Hyde (Ron Rifkin). She gets the fame she was after and never the love, since seduction is the only thing she was ever taught.
