Norma Rae

Norma Rae (Sally Field) works a loom in a southern textile mill where the conditions are bad and everyone has learned to live with them. When Reuben (Ron Leibman), a union organizer, comes to town, she becomes the person he leans on, and the two of them set out to unionize the factory. Martin Ritt keeps the mill loud and grim, and Norma Rae stands among the machines in the grainy light.
